Erek Flynn & Zack Masters — Co-Founders
How We Started
Erek and Zack started canvassing tree work fresh out of high school. They were both young and needed a job while getting an education. They had no idea they would be partnering together 10 years later to create their very own tree company.
Fast forward a few years and Zack went to work with his dad to help grow Freedom Fun USA which is now a nationwide party rental company. Erek continued to learn and work in the tree care industry. He quickly rose up the ranks and was promoted to an arborist where he was able to drive his own truck and talk to people who needed tree work while continuing his education in arboriculture.
Zack guided Erek through the business side of things while Erek handled all things trees and finally, Tree Scouts was born. Now, Tree Scouts Tree Service does it all. We handle tree trimming, tree removals, tree fertilization, stump grinding, and commercial services for bigger properties.
We built this company because we truly love what we do. Our work produces a positive outcome for the environment and people's lives. That's how we look at it. We have a passion for trees and we made sure to only hire tree climbers that share our passion.
What Drives Us
Dual ISA Certified Arborists on staff. We hold credentials that matter for Austin properties: TRAQ, WRRQ, Urban Forestry, and Texas pesticide applicator licensing.
75% of payment taken after the job is done. We don't accept the remaining balance until you're completely satisfied. Only 25% deposit required, not 50%.
We understand Heritage Tree regulations, urban heat island effects, oak wilt prevention, and the city's strict tree preservation ordinances neighborhood by neighborhood.
Conservation contributions come from every job. When you partner with Tree Scouts, you're partnering with people who genuinely care about the environment and community.

We're not a generic tree service — we specialize in Austin's regulatory environment and ecological challenges.
Our lead arborist Levi Williams holds credentials that matter for Austin properties: ISA Certified Arborist (#TX-4955A), TRAQ risk assessment qualification, Texas pesticide applicator license (#0933008), and Urban Forestry certification. These credentials mean we can legally perform oak wilt treatments, assess Heritage Tree health for city permits, and follow Austin's specific pruning standards for protected species. Our other arborists boast over 40+ years of combined experience in the tree service industry.
